Answer the phone
Our dispatch line is staffed 24/7 by a real person. No voicemail mazes, no "leave a message and we'll call back."
Vending Route Hub started with two vans and one route through Baltimore County. Twelve years later we run scheduled routes across four states, service 3,400+ machines, and still answer the phone on the first ring.
In 2014 our founder Marcus Bell was managing facilities for a mid-size Baltimore office complex. The vending service contract was with a national operator that showed up late, restocked poorly, and never answered the phone when a machine went down on a Friday afternoon.
So he bought two vans, hired two technicians, and started running his own route on the side. That route eventually covered most of Baltimore County. Then the DC corridor. Then Northern Virginia. Today Vending Route Hub services over 3,400 machines across Maryland, DC, Virginia, and Delaware.
The philosophy has not changed since day one: answer the phone, arrive when you said you would, and leave every machine better than you found it.
Two vans, two technicians, and a single route through Baltimore County office parks.
First federal facility contract awarded. Background-checked technician program launched to support restricted-access buildings.
Added a third dispatch hub in Silver Spring and launched digital service tickets with photo documentation on every visit.
Developed infection-control-aware service procedures and priority dispatch for hospital and clinical accounts.
Built a dedicated program for vending operators running 50+ machines, including API access and quarterly business reviews.
Extended scheduled routes into northern Delaware with weekly service for Wilmington and Newark metro accounts.
Four states, 340 active facility accounts, and a 98.6% first-visit fix rate. Still answering the phone on the first ring.
These are not aspirational statements on a wall. They are enforced in every route audit and performance review.
Our dispatch line is staffed 24/7 by a real person. No voicemail mazes, no "leave a message and we'll call back."
Service windows are commitments. If we are running late, you get a text before your window opens — not after.
Every machine gets a full clean, not just a restock. If it looks tired, we make it look new again.
Photo-documented service tickets on every visit. If it is not in the log, it did not happen — that is the standard.
You approve every major part replacement before we order it. Nothing goes on your bill that you did not say yes to.
If a machine fails twice for the same reason, our lead technician reviews the ticket. We do not keep patching problems.
Our leadership team still spends time on the road. Every member of management rides a route at least once a quarter.
Started the company with two vans in 2014. Still reviews every escalated ticket personally.
Runs route logistics, dispatch scheduling, and the 90-day onboarding program for every new account.
Manages all 42 route technicians, oversees training, and leads our quarterly route audit program.
Leads the account management team and owns the quarterly business review process for Fleet clients.
We do not chase awards, but we do believe in being accountable to the industry bodies that set the standards for our field.
We are actively hiring in Baltimore, Silver Spring, Arlington, and Wilmington. No vending experience required — we train on every machine model in our fleet and pay for certification programs.
These commitments are written into every service agreement. If we miss one, tell us — we will make it right.
Whether you are looking to switch vendors or add coverage for new machines, our team is happy to walk through the details.
Thanks — our route coordinator will confirm your appointment window within one business day. If your issue is urgent, call us directly at (410) 488-9200.
