Why people stay here

What makes Vending Route Hub different as an employer

We are not a national chain and we do not pretend to be. Our team is small enough that every technician knows the owners by name, and structured enough that there is a real career path.

Competitive pay, weekly

Route technicians start between $22 and $28 per hour depending on experience, plus an annual performance bonus tied to route quality.

Full benefits from day one

Health, dental, and vision coverage starts on your first day, not after 90 days. 401(k) with a 4% company match after six months.

Predictable schedule

Monday through Saturday, daytime shifts only. No overnight on-call rotation, no holiday shifts. Every technician gets a guaranteed two consecutive days off.

Company vehicle and tools

Every technician is assigned a company van, fuel card, phone, and full tool kit. No using your own car or paying for your own equipment.

Paid training and certifications

We pay for manufacturer certification programs on every major vending brand, plus ongoing ride-alongs with senior technicians during your first 90 days.

Real career path

Technician to senior technician to route lead to operations manager. We promote from within — four of our six current route leads started as entry-level technicians.

Annual bonus tied to quality

Technicians earn an annual bonus based on route audit scores, first-visit fix rate, and client satisfaction — not on upselling or volume.

Tuition assistance

Up to $3,000 per year for continuing education in HVAC, electronics, or business management for employees past their first year.

Open positions

Current openings across the Mid-Atlantic

All openings are full-time with benefits from day one. We do not hire seasonal or temporary technicians — every position is a long-term career track.

Applicant questions

What candidates ask us most

Do I need prior vending or HVAC experience?
For route technician roles, no prior vending experience is required. We provide a paid six-week training program that includes ride-alongs, hands-on equipment training, and manufacturer certifications. For our Shop Technician position, prior HVAC or electronics repair experience is strongly preferred but not mandatory — we will train the right candidate who shows mechanical aptitude.
What is the schedule actually like?
Route technicians work Monday through Saturday, daytime shifts only (typically 7 AM to 4 PM). Everyone gets two consecutive days off, and you choose whether that is Saturday–Sunday or Sunday–Monday. There are no overnight shifts, no on-call rotations, and no holiday shifts. Dispatch coordinators work rotating shifts in a hybrid model — three days at HQ, two days remote.
Do I use my own vehicle?
No. Every route technician is assigned a company van, fuel card, and phone. You drive the van home and start your day from there or from the nearest hub, depending on your route. You never use your personal vehicle for work.
Is the pay really $22–$28 an hour to start?
Yes. New route technicians start between $22 and $28 per hour depending on prior experience and which hub you are assigned to. Federal site technicians in Arlington carry a premium because of the additional clearance requirements. All technicians receive an annual performance bonus tied to route audit scores and client satisfaction.
Do you sponsor background checks for federal facilities?
Yes. For the Northern Virginia route, we sponsor and pay for background checks required to access federal buildings. You do not need existing credentials to apply. Once cleared, you receive a federal site premium on your hourly rate.
What happens after I submit an application?
You will hear from our hiring coordinator within two business days — either way. If we move forward, the process is: phone screen (20 minutes), ride-along interview (half a day), then a written offer within 48 hours. We aim to have new technicians on a route within two weeks of the initial application.
Is there a probationary period?
There is no formal probationary period — benefits start on day one. That said, the first 90 days include structured training and periodic check-ins with your route lead to make sure you are set up for success. If it turns out the role is not a good fit, either side can walk away without hard feelings.
Are there part-time positions available?
Occasionally we have part-time route technician openings during peak season, but the vast majority of our positions are full-time. If you are looking for part-time, mention it in your application and we will keep you in mind when something opens up.
